Upcoming mutant epic X-Men: Apocalypse has gained a new cast member in Magic Mike star Olivia Munn, who will be portraying Betsy Braddock, AKA the telepathic heroine Psylocke.
Director Bryan Singer revealed on Instagram that Munn, 34, would be playing Psylocke (a human mutant with extraordinary telepathic and telekinetic powers) on April 11th.
After she was only briefly glimpsed in X-Men; The Last Stand, this will be Psylocke’s first real venture onto the big screen. Given that Psylocke has not always been one of the good guys (famously acting as one of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen in the past), her character dynamic will be interesting to witness as it develops.
Other cast announcements for X-Men: Apocalpyse include; Sophie Turner (Game Of Thrones) as a young Jean Grey and Kodi Smit-Phee as Nightcrawler, with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence all reprising their franchise roles.
