(L-R; Cara Delevigne (Enchantress), Jared Leto (The Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Will Smith (Deadshot) )
The upcoming Suicide Squad film has been one of the hottest subjects circulating through the fanbase of DC Comics, and as of April 7th, there’s been yet another update to the growing cast of characters.
We know of course that the Joker, played by Jared Leto, will be appearing alongside his girlfriend/sidekick Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) – and a rumour that the Clown Prince of Crime’s past misdeeds would be referenced was also spread, including how he murdered one of Batman’s sidekicks.
Jason Todd, AKA murderous vigilante the Red Hood, AKA the second Robin who was murdered by the Joker in the 1988 comic A Death In The Family, won’t explicitly be seen in Suicide Squad, but his old Robin uniform will, hanging in a display case in the Batcave.
Warner Brothers have also reported that they plan on making Red Hood a ‘priority’, which means that he’ll be likely to show up somewhere in the DCCU along the way, with Suicide Squad setting up his back story through the Joker’s appearance.
